Frequently Asked Questions
Before you order, please take a few minutes to read a few of our most frequently asked questions.
1. When will this weeks photos be posted? Please note that we try to have all photos posted as quickly as possible. Our goal is to have all photos posted by the following Tuesday. It is possible that they will be available sooner, and on busy weekends it may be longer, but we appreciate your patience.
2: I ordered and paid for a downloadable
image, why can't I get it yet?
This is because we utilize a 'Display Only' workflow. This
means that we upload only small, reduced quality sample images for
you to view and then when you place your order we are notified and
proceed to fulfill it, uploading the full size image.
3. What can I do with my digital image after I get
it?
Anything you want as long as it's for personal,
non-commercial use. If you do use it for commercial use or
publication, please let us know and give Texas Motorsports
Photography credit for the photo. Please note that you must
obtain permission from all persons in a photo before publication.
We normally do not crop digitals unless it is requested.
4. Do you crop the photo for
the size that I ordered?
Before ordering your photos, if you have any special requests
for cropping, such as, keeping more of the background, please let us
know prior to placing your order. Please provide the date,
gallery, and photo number. We will do our best to accommodate
your request, otherwise, we will crop all printed photos the
way we feel they look best!
SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT CROPPING: We take pictures in a 2:3 aspect ratio.
If you order a picture with
a different aspect ratio and the subject fills up the thumbnail
picture, then there is a very good chance that the front or back of
your picture will be cut off on 5x7 and 8x10 prints or mouse pads
and mugs. To avoid this most of our photos are taken with more than
enough room to crop, however please be aware of this when placing
your order. Most of our
larger prints are offered in a 2:3 aspect ratio. Occasionally we
will replace the picture you ordered with another one of your
pictures if there is one available, that lends itself to the size
picture you ordered. See sample below.

5. Wow, these are awesome high quality prints, who does the
printing?
We use Exposure Manager and their lab. They are a
professional photo service with a professional lab located in
California. And yes, they do an awesome high quality job.
6.
I just finished my order and want to add another picture, can I
change my order?
Sorry, once an order has been submitted you cannot make any
changes or modifications to it because we don’t actually have access
to your payment information to make any changes.
Exposure Manager is set up to
collect your payment and then they pay us. The only thing we can do
is to refund your entire order and start over. When we do this, it
may take several days to show up on your credit card as a credit.
7: What finishes are offered and
how do they differ?
We offer the four following print finishes:
Metallic-This finish is a high contrast gloss finish with very saturated colors. It appears as though the image is printed on metal (it almost compares to the back side of aluminum foil). Images tend to really 'pop' when they are done on metallic paper. However, note that 'highs' (bright areas) have a tendency to be 'blown out' and over-highlighted on metallic paper.
Glossy-This finish is the shiny, rich-looking paper most people are traditionally used to. It tends to show fine detail better, but also shows fingerprints.
Matte-This finish is a highly textured print finish that resists fingerprints and scratches. It is much duller, and does not reflect light. Many photographers use matte finishes for wallet prints because they usually get handled more than normal. Some also use it for poster-sized prints.
Luster-This finish is not as shiny as glossy, but not as flat (dull) as as matte finish paper. Luster paper has a textured finish (some call it 'pebbled') that hides fingerprints. Most portraits and wedding photos are typically printed on Luster finish paper.
For all three traditional paper finishes-glossy, matte, and luster- photos are printed on Fujicolor Crystal Archive Type II Photo Paper with 50+ years archival quality. All metallic prints are printed on Kodak Endura paper.
8: I saw you taking photos, why is mine
not available?
Unfortunately, as with any photography, some photos come out
blurry, out of focus, chopped off, with mirrors or waving hands in
front of faces. We try to take multiple photos of every person
to insure that something like this happens as infrequently as
possible. Also, if you were part of a large group, sometimes
it is impossible to get everyone if they are riding to close
together. We want you to be 100% satisfied with your order and
feel that no photo is better than a bad photo.
9. Don’t you think your photos and products are overpriced?
We go to a lot of expense to offer you a
high quality affordable professional photographs or gift items that
you will be proud to display and show off for years to come. We edit
every photo and make every effort to only post quality pictures and
then use only a professional lab that uses premium high quality
photo paper.Yes you can take your camera and go to your local
discount store to have prints made for less than we can make a
picture for you, and believe me there is nothing wrong with this, I
have a closet full of them, and that is where they stay.
